Picture
This is an adventure we have been working on and anticipating for months.  We hope to escort this trip with Lindblad Expeditions to the archipelago in the very northern part of Norway where we will search for polar bears and other arctic wildlife.

We begin the trip in Oslo on May 30, 2017 and then fly to Longyearbyen where we will board our ship, the National Geographic Explorer.

For the following six days we will go on journeys to be planned based on local conditions and animal movement.  This promises to be a once-in-a-lifetime journey.  We do anticipate that this trip will sell out very early and encourage our new and existing clients to sign up as soon as possible!

For further information and pricing click on the link below.  It will open a PDF flyer with more details and pricing.

Some of our clients who went on our 2014 and 2015 safaris have asked me to set up yet another Africa trip...they love it that much...as do we!  So we are going back to Tanzania and Kenya for the Great Migration in June of 2017.

Highlights of this trip include:
  • A descent into the most unique caldera in the world...the Ngorongoro Crater.
  • View endless vistas with wildebeests and zebras in the Serengeti.
  • Search for the Big Five which includes elephants, rhinos, buffaloes, lions and leopards.
  • Enjoy the blue and purple landscapes of the Samburu National Reserve
For more information, be sure to download the two PDF fliers below.  The top flier shows a summary of the trip and the pricing...the other gives more details about the itinerary.  There are only a few rooms available, so be sure to contact us as soon as possible if you are interested in joining us!

Antarctica and Patagonia Cruise November 2016

3/15/2016

Since returning from Antarctica in 2015, we have posted hundreds of photos of our spectacular trip.   If you missed them, Click Here  ... they can be viewed right here on our website.
Picture

These photos have generated a lot of interest from our clients and from our website's visitors.  The good news?  It looks like we may be going back in November of 2016! ** The 21-night voyage will sail from Buenos Aires to Valparaiso with six days of landings in Antarctica!  (See the map to the left)
Most ships that go to Antarctica are older "explorer" vessels.  But with this trip, you get the expedition experience but will cruise in luxury aboard the Seabourn Quest, known by many as the best service at sea!  It is truly the best of both worlds.

Because these trips sell out very early, we recommend that you hold the best cabins as soon as possible.  The deposit is fully refundable.  For more information about this cruise, the itinerary and the pricing, click on the icon below.  It will open up a flyer that you can view and/or print out.  Pricing may be different than that shown on the flyer...call me for the most up-to-date rates.

**  We are scheduled to escort a group on this voyage.  However a minimum number of people are required so there is a chance we may not get to go.

Carl's 2015 Year-End Letter

12/21/2015

Picture
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of my clients, friends and family members!  I thought I'd try something new this year and put my Christmas/Year-end letter on my Blog so it can easily be accessed for anyone who wants to read it!   The photo to the left was taken on my most recent trip.  I just returned from an incredible trip to the Galapagos and to Machu Picchu.  I sell a lot of these two destinations but have so much more knowledge about Ecuador and Peru now that I have been there!  Both are remarkable places!

2015 in Review.  This was a year filled with many "firsts" and some incredible travel experiences. Here are a few of the highlights:
  • January began with perhaps my favorite trip of all time!  I traveled aboard the Seabourn Quest from Buenos Aires to Santiago with six days in Antarctica.  Not only was the scenery and wildlife incredible, but the people I met on board were among the greatest additions to my life in 2015! During this trip I traveled the furthest south I've ever been. Feel free to review my photo albums from this trip at Carl's Antarctica Photos.
  • In April I traveled with a group of friends and clients on a Princess California Coastal Cruise.  We could not have had a better time!
  • In May a few family members traveled to Denver to celebrate the 60th birthday of my cousin Sally.  It was a great time with the "Allen" side of the family.  Love you cuz!
  • In June I led my 10th trip to Alaska with some of my long-time clients and long-time friends...some I've known since high school...others with whom I worked at Republic Bank in the 1970's.  Another great Alaska experience!
  • In August I escorted a group to Iceland and Norway.  Prior to departure, I was fortunate to visit my friends David and Wilma in London.   During this trip I traveled the furthest north I've ever been.
  • In September I escorted another group to Africa.  This time we visited Botswana, Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe and Cape Town. It was an incredible trip with some of my favorite people.
  • In December I finally visited two sites at the top of my Bucket List...the Galapagos and Machu Picchu.  As part of this trip I stood on the equator with half of my body in the northern hemisphere and half in the southern hemisphere.  Now to start Bucket List, Phase Two!
New Photo Site.  A new edition to my business endeavors is my new photography web site. Many people have graciously complimented my photos from all over the world.   So I finally launched a web site dedicated strictly to the photography side of my life.  If you go to the main page, a slide show of some of my favorite photos will be displayed.  This site is in its infant pages as I will be loading hundreds of other photos.  People can purchase prints, canvas prints and even create photo books from this site. Please visit carldreizlerphotography.com

My Business.  I am so grateful to my incredible clients as 2015 was the second best year in the history of findacruisedeal.com, my travel agency.  In 2016 my agency will celebrate its 20th birthday!!

Upcoming Trips.  There are a lot of trips planned for the next two years. Here are some of the upcoming trips I hope to escort:
  • April 16, 2016--7-night Princess California Coastal Cruise.  This is a cruise where we will celebrate the 20th anniversary of my company.  I'm hoping as many friends and clients as possible will join me!  Click here for further information (NOTE - rates have changed since this flyer was created.  Contact me for current rates.)
  • May 2016--I hope to escort a group aboard a luxurious Seabourn cruise from Dubai to Monte Carlo.  This cruise will visit so many places I've always wanted to see. Click here for more information.
  • June 1, 2016--If enough people sign up, I hope to escort another group on the Paul Gauguin to the Society Islands (Tahiti), my favorite place in the world.  Click here for more information.
  • In October of 2016 I hope to lead a group on a cruise from Lisbon to Cape Town. This unique itinerary visits many places not visited by most travelers.  It is aboard the luxurious all-inclusive Regent Seven Seas Navigator.  Click here for more information.
  • In 2017 trips are being planned for Africa (the migration), the Galapagos and Northern Canada to view polar bears.  If you have interest in any of these trips, be sure to send me a note so I can add you to the distribution list.

Other Highlights.  There are too many personal highlights to mention in this update. Some are listed in the photos shown.  I had SO many great moments with life-long and brand new friends. I can't mention all by name or I'll leave someone out! I spent time with my wonderful family.  I enjoyed RUHS and USC athletic events.  I traveled the world and I viewed many sunsets.  I'm grateful for BB7, my Wednesday Men's Bible Study and so much more!

Counting My Blessings.  When it comes to family, friends and clients, I am the luckiest man alive!  I'm so grateful for each of the people in my life.  Wishing each of you many blessings during this Christmas and much joy in 2016.

Princess Cruises invited me to be among just a handful of travel agency owners at their 50th Birthday Celebration. The cast of "The Love Boat" was at the event. Thank you Princess Cruises.

In September I led another trip to Africa. I cannot get enough of this place. A great trip and a great group of friends/clients joined me. Many have been there multiple times with me. Another trip is being planned for Spring 2017!

How could I summarize any year without mentioning USC football. Some day USC will be back to its National Championship status. This was not the year. However, we were undefeated in the PAC-12 South and beat UCLA!! I had the pleasure this year of meeting Mike Rae who was quarterback of the National Championship team in 1972, my freshman year, touted by many (including me) as the best college football team of all time.

Sadly, there were many losses of family members and friends in 2015. Here three of us reflect on the unexpected loss of close friend Greg Vincent. Hug those you love this Christmas. We never know when it will be our last.

Trip to the "Happiest Place on Earth" with my niece and great-nephew. Later in the year I would meet his new little brother.

My annual trip to watch my friend Skip Schumaker play baseball. He is always so gracious to me. His grandparents got me in to the travel business and his parents are good friends of mine since high school. I had the privilege of officiating at his and Lindsey's wedding many years ago.

Destinations--Alaska

11/12/2015

Picture
Earlier this summer I returned from my tenth trip to Alaska.  This time I had about 20 findacruisedeal.com clients with me.  As a result of my frequent trips to Alaska and my 20 years in the cruise business I've gained a great deal of knowledge about this destination.

I'm hoping this Alaska tip on my blog will help our current and future clients as they plan their own first, second or multiple trip to this great state!  I always tell people that if they can only go on one cruise in their lifetime, Alaska is the place to go.  I never get tired of this destination.

I remind our readers in this and every tip...  You do NOT save money by booking your Alaska cruise direct with the cruise line.  Please call us to let us help you plan the Alaska cruise that is best for your situation.  We always try to find the best possible deal for our clients...and you will likely receive added benefits you would NOT get booking direct!

What are the itinerary options for an Alaska cruise?  While there are cruise lines that offer unique itineraries, more than 90% of Alaska cruises are either:

 a) Round trip from Seattle
 b) One way between Vancouver and Anchorage (Northbound or Southbound)

And, more than 90% of Alaska cruises are 7 nights in duration.  (Again, there are other options.)  For example, one cruise line offers 10-night cruises from San Francisco.

So many people choose the round trip Seattle option because of the convenience of a round trip flight within the Continental USA.  But should you choose the itinerary strictly because of the convenience of the flights?  I much prefer the northbound or southbound cruises to the round trip cruises.

Add-on Land Packages:  For those sailing round trip from Seattle or Vancouver we can add on a pre or post-cruise land package to Whistler, Jasper and/or Banff, Canada!  For those doing a one-way cruise between Anchorage and Vancouver, we can add a 3-7 night pre or post-cruise land package with such destinations as Denali National Park, the Yukon, Fairbanks and many other stops in the interior of Alaska.

Cruise Line Options:  There are many different cruise line companies that sail to Alaska...from the most budget of lines to the top-of-the-line luxury lines.  One of the benefits of working with an agency like findacruisedeal.com is that we help you select the correct cruise line for your situation and budget.

For a complete list of Alaska cruise itinerary options contact our office.  We already have a record number of clients booked for 2016!

Gems of Arabia/Suez Canal/Holy Land Luxury Cruise

7/2/2015

Picture
We hope to escort this cruise that will depart Dubai and cruise through the Suez Canal before we visit the Holy Land and continue on to Monte Carlo.  This is a great cruise for those who have been to most parts of the world but have yet to say they've cruised the Suez Canal.  It is also a great trip for those who have not seen the Holy Land or, perhaps, have always wanted to go to Dubai.

This 20-night voyage, departing May 5, 2016, is aboard the luxurious Seabourn Sojourn...in our opinion, the perfect-size ship with just 450 passengers.  This is an all-suite vessel where wine, spirits and gratuities are all included in the cruise fare!

For further information, please click on the PDF flyer below.  Current prices and a day-by-day itinerary are shown here.   We hope you'll join us on this incredible voyage!

Regent Seven Seas Cruises--Truly All-Inclusive

5/1/2015

Picture
Our agency sells quite a few Regent Seven Seas (RSSC) cruises every year. RSSC is the ideal cruise line for the upscale traveler who does not like to get "nickel and dimed" on a cruise.

Let's say that you normally cruise on a "premium" (middle level) cruise line but that you usually get a mini-suite or suite on that cruise line.  Once you are on board the premium cruise line, you are charged for shore excursions, transfers to and from the ship, wine with dinner, gratuities and even bottles of water.  Often the onboard bill for some of our clients approaches the cost of the trip itself.  Wouldn't it be nice to get off a cruise ship and have that final bill have a $00.00 balance due?  That is very possible when you sail with RSSC!

Picture

Believe it or not, the entry level cabin on two of the three RSSC ships is nicer than the mini-suite on most of the premium cruise lines' ships.

The "Veranda Suite" features a walk-in closet with a safe, a spacious bathroom with separate shower and bathtub, your own private balcony and a sitting area adjacent to the comfortable bed.

Picture
Picture
Remember...you NEVER save money with this or any other cruise vacation by booking direct with the cruise line.  In fact, when you book your RSSC cruise with us, you will get added benefits you would not get direct with the cruise line...so you actually lose money booking direct!
So what is included with your fare when you book a suite with Regent Seven Seas Cruise Line?  It is truly the ONLY all-inclusive of the major cruise lines.  Everything you see below is included with your fare:

  • Round trip air from many major cities (business class air for higher categories!)
  • Unlimited shore excursions (there is an extra charge for certain deluxe excursions)
  • Free pre-cruise hotel night (for Concierge Level suites and above)
  • Free specialty restaurants
  • Unlimited beverages--Fine wines and spirits!
  • In-suite mini-bar
  • Pre-paid gratuities
  • Transfers between the airport, hotel and ship
And all with an "elegant casual" dress code.  No tuxedos and sequins required!

Please contact us to hold space on your Regent Seven Seas cruise today!  310-540-7767
